Tennis injuries are common in the lower limbs due to the stopping , twisting , lunging and running movements needed. These can lead to acute injuries such as ankle and knee ligament sprains or overuse ,injuries such as patella tendinopathy. Shoulder , rotator cuff sprain or impingement , and elbow injuries such as tennis elbow are also common and are often due to the repetitive nature of the upper limb movements but often happen due to dysfunction somewhere else in the chain of movement which causes excessive stress in these areas. Low back pain is also common quiet often caused by the combination of back extension and twist to serve and smash or reaching and twisting for groundshots.
